Our new Center for Growing Concepts

The Center for Growing Concepts is an initiative of PlantLab and Hogeschool HAS Den Bosch. Other instances have also been added to this. Together with students from Hogeschool HAS-Den Bosch PlantLab investigates multilayer cultivation with the latest LED lighting from Philips.

The Center for Growing Concepts combines the latest developments within the field of plant and cultivation technology to make plant production in multilayer cultivation possible. It has a hyper modern laboratory with eight climate cells where over 56 combinations of environmental parameters can be controlled that affect plant development and can be varied and researched simultaneously. Think of examples like light intensity, light color, relationships between colors, room-, crop- and root temperature, CO2 content and air humidity.

The Center for Growing Concepts is a facility for scientific research by HAS students and teachers as well as the home base of PlantLab, which develops and delivers R&D Units, Plant Production Units and growing recipes.

The Center for Growing Concepts has been in the news since the pilot study started by PlantLab in 2006 where the feasibility of the principle was demonstrated with a first attempt at multilayer cultivation. Various media sources reported on this such as Financieel Dagblad and many local papers such as Omroep Brabant and Trouw.
